“…a life where you have the freedom to be your authentic self…”
My guest Aileen Alegado says Mental Health is Wealth and she would know. She’s the founder of Mindset Consulting Psychology and primary clinician who is working with people with mental health issues.
The statistics show that 1 in 5 people experience or suffer mental health issues at some point in their lives and today it’s more common because there are more demands placed on us, more expectations to do better and do more. It’s the perfect time to be talking about this subject with the holiday season upon us.
In this episode, we talk about Aileen’s own personal experience with depression and anxiety. In 2013 her partner died suddenly and she shares with us how she had to ‘walk the talk’ and how by allowing herself to be vulnerable her clients relate to her better and see that if she can do it, so can they.
Aileen says mental health isn’t something to be shamed into not talking about and with self-compassion and self-care we can ensure we’re doing what we can to keep our mind healthy just like we use good food and movement to keep our bodies healthy.
