From the outside, it looked like Sarah Wills had it all, married with two beautiful children, intelligent and armed with 3 university degrees and a successful career as a senior manager…but on the inside, something just didn’t feel right.
However, significant life-changing events forced Sarah to question who she was and what legacy she wanted to leave for her children and the people she touched. It was then she realised that her success had come about by embracing her masculine qualities.
You see Sarah’s upbringing tainted the way she perceived the attributes that make women…women. Vulnerability, empathy, nurturing, collaborating were seen as signs of weakness. It wasn’t until her mum passed away that she realised those very attributes she once saw as weaknesses, were in fact strengths.
In this episode, Sarah and I talk about how she made the transition from the corporate world to create her own health and fitness business just 6 months ago and how she’s disrupting the ‘body loathing’ marketing tactics used by the majority of the health and fitness industry to make us feel bad about ourselves so we buy their products and instead incorporates mindfulness, self-love, and vulnerability into her teachings.
Living life on your own terms means…
“Doing what I want to do not what others expect me to do because of the roles I play in life”
~ Sarah Wills
Sarah’s Words of Wisdom
- Do things because you love your body not because you hate it.
- If you want to start somewhere, start embracing who you are as a woman. Be more vulnerable – vulnerability is a strength.
- Be kind. To each other but also kinder to yourself.
